WHAT IS COSPLAY?
Cosplay (n) The activity or practice of dressing up as a character from a work of fiction (Merriam-Webster)
Cosplay blends the two words Costume and Play. Fans of characters from anime, video games, movies, tv shows, books, and any other media create costumes to express the enjoyment of a favorite character. Cosplayers often take on the mannerisms of the chosen character and prepare skits or use common catchphrases.
We welcome all Cape Con attendees to dress in cosplay of their favorite characters. Please view our guidelines before coming to Cape Con to ensure that your cosplay is appropriate for our venue.
